Hastelloy C-4 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy, a corrosion-resistant alloy material with the most stable microstructure. Compared with other early developed alloys with similar chemical composition, the main difference is low carbon, silicon, iron, and tungsten content, and the addition of stabilizing element titanium. Such chemistry exhibits good stability at 650-1040°C, improves the ability to resist intergranular corrosion, and can avoid pitting and crevice corrosion under appropriate manufacturing conditions.
