Hastelloy G-30 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy material. It is an improved version of Hastelloy G3. G30 has a higher chromium content, so it has corrosion resistance to oxidizing acids such as nitric acid and chloric acid. It has considerable copper and molybdenum content. It also has a certain resistance to reducing acids such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid. In particular, it is worth mentioning that Hastelloy G30 has a high degree of resistance to "wet process" phosphoric acid. "Wet process" phosphoric acid (P 2 O 5) is made by phosphate rock and sulfuric acid reaction, which is an agrochemical fertilizer. The main source of phosphorus, Hastelloy G-30 is widely used in the fertilizer manufacturing industry.
HASTELLOY G-30 is harder than austenite and is basically similar to other alloys in terms of formability. It has good ductility and cold working is the preferred forming method. The alloy is usually welded using gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc, and shielded metal arc.
