Other common names: W.Nr.1.4562, UNS N08031
Alloy 31 is an iron-nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with relatively low cost and high corrosion resistance. Nitrogen and copper are added to this alloy element, and its performance is between special alloy austenitic stainless steel and existing nickel-based alloys. Alloy 31 has excellent general corrosion resistance to alkaline and halide-containing media, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, chlorine dioxide media, nitric acid, and reducing and oxidizing media. It also has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, pitting corrosion, and crevice resistance. Corrosion and stress corrosion resistance and other local corrosion performance. This alloy has good cold and hot workability, formability, welding performance, high strength, and good plasticity. It is one of the iron-nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloys with the best overall performance.
Alloy 31 is known as the "advanced 6 Mo-alloy" and is a version with higher chromium and nickel content, which can significantly improve the corrosion resistance in various media. Its local corrosion resistance is better than many alloys, including Ni-Cr-Mo alloy 625, and its uniform corrosion resistance in sulfuric acid in the medium concentration range is better than alloy C-276 and alloy 20.
● Excellent corrosion resistance in alkaline and acid halide media
● Wide operating temperature
● Excellent resistance to chlorine dioxide media
● Good resistance to stress corrosion cracking
● Excellent workability, weldability, and good thermal stability
● It has good corrosion resistance in phosphoric acid, boiling nitric acid, and sulfuric acid of any concentration
